NRL Touts Ability to Get Closer to Fans via Ooyala-Powered Streaming Platform

The Australian National Rugby League (NRL) has touted its ability to get closer to its fans via its Ooyala-powered content streaming platform.

Speaking at Ooyala/NRL lunch in Sydney that Fifth Quadrant attended last month, NRL Digital Technology Lead Domenic Romeo said that the NRL’s digital transformation had passed a milestone at the start of last year when broadcast rights transferred to a partnership between the ARL Commission, Nine Network, News Corp Australia, Fox Sports, and Telstra.

Ooyala Finds More People Are Clicking "PLAY" Globally

San Jose, CA – (March 14, 2018) – Mobile video plays topped 60% globally for the first time in the fourth quarter of 2017 — garnering a 60.3% share of all video starts – per Ooyala’s newly released Q4 2017 Global Video Index Report.   Geographically, Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) had the greatest level of engagement at 63.5%. North America lagged most of the rest of world at 57.6% despite seeing mobile video jump 11% from Q4 2016.
